Then one day, while playing a waltz on the piano, he hit a wrong note and started laughing uncontrollably. That laugh triggered a chain reaction that led to a new musical style called “harpsichord jazz.” The idea of accidently creating something wonderful has been around for centuries, but it took this particular incident to make it famous.
